It's interesting how colors change and almost disappear underwater. Notice how red nearly disappears but pink and orange are still seen well. 
By choosing reel line, float line and equipment that shows up well underwater you can avoid entanglements and be safer, more visible diver. What is not seen from the photograph is white, which shows up excellent underwater. By choosing a white mask, snorkel, weight belt, or other piece of equipment you can be seen from a much further distance.
